North Samarinda – As a form of social concern, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangatta Field distributed a subsidy to the Tanah Merah Village community affected by the flood disaster. Representatives of PEP Sangatta Field symbolically handed over the aid to Ely Supriyati, Chairperson of the Community Social Work Agency (PSM), at Tanah Merah Village, North Samarinda District, East Kalimantan, on Monday, May 19, 2025.
The handover of the company's aid was witnessed directly by the ranks of the Tanah Merah Village Government. The aid received will be used to support the availability of emergency disaster posts and also distributed directly to flood victims in this area.
PEP Sangatta Field Manager Cahyo Nugroho explained that disaster management is a form of social and environmental responsibility, known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), of the company. "The company's TJSL or CSR activities in the fields of economy, education, health, environment, and disaster management are intended to support the achievement of sustainable development goals or Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs, especially goal 13 on climate change management and goal 15 which focuses on land ecosystems," he said.
Cahyo stated that the company promptly responded to the needs of the community affected by the flood disaster within its operational area. "Through this assistance activity, PEP Sangatta Field wants to continue to show its active role in supporting post-disaster recovery and strengthening relations with the community and local government," added Cahyo.
According to him, with the spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance, the company aims to continue improving its increasingly harmonious relations with the community. "We believe that harmonious and positive relations with all stakeholders around the operational area are important to support the sustainability of the company's operations and business," concluded Cahyo.
Meanwhile, Ely Supriyati expressed her appreciation to PEP Sangatta Field for the concern and assistance that has been given to the Tanah Merah Village community affected by this flood disaster. "Thank you to PEP Sangatta Field for their concern for the people of Tanah Merah Village," he said.
According to Ely, many of our people are currently struggling to meet their basic needs due to their homes being submerged in floodwaters, so the assistance provided is incredibly beneficial. "We feel very helped by the assistance provided. Hopefully, this assistance can also help the company to form a more positive relationship with the surrounding community," said Ely.
