Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) held a series of activities to commemorate National Health Day/Hari Kesehatan Nasional (HKN) 2025 as part of the Company’s strategic efforts to enhance awareness and improve the physical and mental health quality of its workers. Carrying the theme “Perwira Sehat, Produktivitas Hebat” (“Healthy Workers, Outstanding Productivity”), the program ran from 12 November 2025 to 2 December 2025.

This year’s HKN commemoration also marked the Opening of the SINERGIA Wellness Program 2025–2026 within PHKT. As part of the HKN activities, PHKT organized a Health Talk Series featuring health experts who discussed important and engaging topics across the five pillars of health, namely:

1. Balanced Nutrition Pillar on 12 November by DR. dr. Tan Shot Yen, M.Hum., a leading nutrition expert, who delivered a session on “Strategi Gizi Seimbang untuk Produktivitas Pekerja” (“Balanced Nutrition Strategies for Worker Productivity”).
2. Social Connection Pillar on 13 November by dr. Santi Yuliani, M.Sc., Sp.KJ., a psychiatrist, discussed “Koneksi Asik Bukan Toxic” (“Fun Connections, Not Toxic Ones”).
3. Physical Activity Pillar on 20 November by Asep Aziz Muslim, SSt.Ft., Sports Physiotherapist for the Indonesian National Football Team, who presented “Berolahraga dengan Aman dan Bebas Cidera” (“Exercising Safely and Injury-Free”).
4. Adequate Rest Pillar on 26 November by Milla Suraiya, S.Psi., M.Psi., a psychologist, who delivered “Successful Sleeping, The Nightly Transformation.”
5. Mental Health Pillar on 2 December by Patria Rahmawaty, S.Psi., M.MPd., a psychologist, who discussed “Gaz! Sehat Tanpa Drama” (“Gaz! Healthy Without Drama”).

On this occasion, the Company collaborated with the Balikpapan City Health Department and Telaga Sari Community Health Center/Puskesmas to provide free health check-ups and consultations for workers, as part of efforts to improve health quality in the upstream oil and gas working environment.

General Manager of Zona 10, Yoseph Agung Prihartono, emphasized the importance of health as the foundation of company performance. “Worker health is the foundation of productivity. That is why PHKT invests in comprehensive health programs to ensure every worker is always fit for work. Through the momentum of HKN 2025, we aim to strengthen a healthy lifestyle culture to support the achievement of superior company performance,” he stated.

Coordinator for Nutrition and Occupational Health at the Balikpapan City Health Department, dr. Halidina Marchama highlighted the importance of national digital health transformation through the Satu Sehat platform. She explained that the system is designed to integrate medical records from various healthcare facilities across Indonesia, enabling more accurate, systematic monitoring of worker health data and proper documentation. Within PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), including PHKT, Smart Clinics have been implemented. Going forward, this system will be connected to Satu Sehat, making healthcare services more efficient, faster, and integrated. However, workers need to complete verification or obtain a ‘blue check,’ so the system can link user identities with their health data,” she said. This transformation is expected to help oil and gas workers access healthcare services more practically while improving the quality of occupational health management.

Meanwhile, Manager HSSE Operations at RS Kinoturangga Nitikoesoemo reaffirmed that safe oil and gas operations start with healthy, capable workers. “HKN 2025 serves as a reminder to all workers that healthy lifestyle habits are simple yet essential steps to maintain safety and operational reliability in oil and gas activities. We encourage every worker to take care of their physical and mental health to remain in optimal condition in the field,” he explained.

The implementation of the Wellness Program pillars focuses on empowering workers to consistently adopt healthy lifestyles, including balanced nutrition and physical activity, adequate rest, stress management, and positive social relationships. “This program is the Company’s effort to reduce health risks such as obesity, smoking habits, and heart disease, while also improving morale, job satisfaction, and productivity. The benefits are realized through various activities such as cooking classes, meditation, yoga, and suspension training,” he concluded.
