Kutai Kartanegara – PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga Field and PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) introduced a unique and engaging social program to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. The companies, operating under the coordination of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) Regional 3 Kalimantan Zona 9, organized the CurTis program, short for Cukur Gratis (Free Haircut), as a form of care for communities preparing to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

The CurTis program also aims to empower local barbers and participants of barber training previously organized by the Company. In total, nearly 150 residents living around the Company’s operational areas benefited from the CurTis program, which was held at three locations.

PEP Sangasanga Field held the activity at Wisma Ria Building on 13 March 2026, attended by 28 participants. Haircut services were provided by four local barbers, fostered by the Company, who are graduates of the Sangasanga District Barbershop Training held in 2025. Senior Manager of PEP Sangasanga Field, Sigid Setiawan, stated that the activity reflects the Company’s commitment to delivering community empowerment programs that provide direct benefits. “The CurTis program not only helps the community improve their appearance ahead of Eid al-Fitr, but also provides space for our trained barbers to practice the skills they have learned,” he said.

The following day, a similar program was also carried out by PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) Northern Area Operations (NAO) at Badak Creative Center, Gas Alam Badak I Village, Muara Badak District, on 14 March 2026. Haircut services at this location were provided by two certified young barbers, assisted by three general barbers. The activity, attended by 50 residents, was a continuation of PHSS’s CSR program, featuring barbershop skills training and certification for youth living in the operational area.

Head of Gas Alam Badak I Village, Amir, appreciated the program for its tangible impact on improving youth capacity. Similar appreciation was expressed by representatives of Muara Badak District, who hoped that similar activities could continue sustainably.

In addition to Muara Badak, PHSS also organized the CurTis activity at the BPU Hall of Muara Jawa Ulu Subdistrict, Muara Jawa District, on 15 March 2026, attended by around 70 residents from various age groups. Section Head of PHSS Southern Area Operations (SAO), Agus Irawan, stated that CurTis represents one form of the Company’s care for the community. “We hope this activity can provide benefits for the community in welcoming Eid al-Fitr while strengthening harmonious relations between the Company and communities around the operational area,” he said.

Meanwhile, Muara Jawa District Head Muhammad Ramli also appreciated the activity, noting that it strengthens togetherness among the Company, the government, and the community.

Ruby Febriyanti, parent of one of the CurTis participants in Muara Jawa, expressed appreciation to PHSS for its attention to the community, especially in welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. “Thank you, PHSS. The Free Haircut (CurTis) event ran smoothly and was excellent. My child can now look their best for Eid,” she said.

In addition to free haircuts, participants received hair care packages at the end of the activity. The CurTis program is expected to continue developing as part of skill-based community empowerment efforts while delivering social benefits to communities in the Company’s operational areas.
