DJKN Bestows Award upon PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam for Management of Strategic State Assets in the Upstream Oil and Gas Sector

Jakarta– PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) received an award from the Directorate General of State Assets/Direktorat Jenderal Kekayaan Negara (DJKN), Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, for its significant contribution to the management of Upstream Oil and Gas State-Owned Goods/Barang Milik Negara (BMN). DJKN presented this award through the Directorate of State Asset Management at the DJKN Head Office in Central Jakarta. The award, received on March 21st, positioned PHM as the Cooperation Contract Contractor/Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama (KKKS) with the Third Largest State Revenue Contribution in 2024.

This appreciation is a form of recognition for the synergy and contribution of contractors in managing state assets that hold strategic value for national development and the economy. Purnama T. Sianturi, Director of State Asset Management at DJKN, explained that the upstream oil and gas and coal mining industries play a vital role in Indonesia's economy through state revenue, domestic gas allocation, and investment in the exploration and exploitation sectors.

Furthermore, Purnama emphasized that this sector makes a tangible contribution to state revenue, both through taxes and non-tax state revenue (PNBP). Based on the 2023 Central Government Financial Report/Laporan Keuangan Pemerintah Pusat (LKPP), Upstream Oil and Gas BMN and ex-PKP2B BMN were recorded as Other Assets with values of Rp630.4 trillion and Rp2.94 trillion, respectively. This substantial contribution reflects the continuously optimized potential for state revenue.

The General Manager of PHM, Setyo Sapto Edi, expressed gratitude for the award. "As a Cooperation Contract Contractor/Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama (KKKS), this award is the government's recognition of PHM's strong commitment to continuously maintain the sustainability of national oil and gas production and provide a tangible contribution to state revenue," he stated.

Setyo revealed that this success is inseparable from the solid synergy among PHM, SKK Migas, partners, and all stakeholders. "To maintain our significant contribution to the state, we will continue to prioritize the principles of efficiency, occupational safety, and sustainability in every upstream oil and gas operation of the company to support national energy resilience and provide maximum benefits for the nation and the country. This award motivates us to continue improving our performance and contribution in the coming years," Setyo elaborated.

On a separate occasion, Sunaryanto, President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, also conveyed his joy and appreciation for the award. "This award from DJKN is a clear manifestation of the government's trust in PHI's and its subsidiaries' performance in managing strategic state assets," he explained.

According to Sunaryanto, the company recognizes the increasing operational and business challenges. Therefore, he stated that the company is taking strategic steps to ensure its continued contribution to the state. "We are implementing various innovations and technologies to maintain safety, integrity, efficiency, and compliance in conducting upstream oil and gas operations so that we can continue to support national energy sustainability and resilience and provide added value for the state," Sunaryanto said.

As the operator of the Mahakam Working Area, PHM plays a crucial role in supporting the national energy supply and creating economic value from state assets through professional and accountable governance.

This award serves as a strong impetus for PHM to continue enhancing its capabilities, efficiency, and cross-sector collaboration in managing strategic state assets, thereby promoting a more energy- and economically independent Indonesia.
