Determined Amid Limitations, Aspita Earns the Sobat Bumi Kalimantan Scholarship from PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia

Samarinda—The Sobat Bumi Kalimantan (BSBK) Scholarship Program by PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) serves as a bridge for underprivileged students in Kalimantan to access higher education at the undergraduate level. Through the BSBK Program, scholarship recipients' hopes remain alive as they pursue their dreams for a brighter future.

PHI collaborates with the Pertamina Foundation as the program's implementation partner. The BSBK Program is PHI's flagship CSR initiative in education, aimed at supporting the government's policy of achieving Indonesia Gold 2045 through the development of quality human resources.

One of the 15 scholarship recipients for the 2024 BSBK Program is Aspita Danisha, a student from SMA Negeri 2 Samarinda. Her mother works hard selling goods in the market to support the family, as her father can no longer work due to declining health. Despite her family's financial struggles, Aspita's spirit never faltered. She successfully secured the BSBK scholarship and is now enrolled in the Chemical Engineering program at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology.

During high school, Aspita focused not only on academics but also actively participated in extracurricular activities. She was a member of the Japanese Club and the Chemistry Club, which provided her with opportunities to explore her interests and talents beyond formal learning. Her packed schedule continuously motivated her to study and achieve success.

Aspita Danisha's success in earning the BSBK scholarship is a turning point in her life. The scholarship not only eases her family's financial burden but also opens up significant opportunities for Aspita to pursue her dream of someday working for a major company. "I sincerely thank PHI for helping the youth of Kalimantan to pursue higher education. I hope this program continues to produce quality human resources in Indonesia," said Aspita.

Her life motto, "Big dreams require big efforts," inspires her. With determination and hard work, Aspita proves that limitations are not barriers to achieving dreams.

Through the BSBK Program, scholarship recipients receive assistance covering tuition fees, living expenses, and support for capacity-building with an environmental perspective. Additionally, recipients engage in various social activities to raise environmental awareness, such as the Aksi Sobat Bumi Program and the Desa Energi Berdikari Sobat Bumi (DEB SoBI).

Dony Indrawan, manager of Communication Relations and CID PHI, explained that the BSBK Program is designed to help Kalimantan's younger generation fulfill their aspirations and face a brighter future. "We hope this program supports them in completing higher education and equips them with the confidence and skills to become agents of change. They are expected to make a tangible contribution to Kalimantan and become the pride of the nation," he said.

The year 2024 marks the inaugural implementation of the BSBK Program as part of PHI's commitment to developing quality human resources for Indonesia Gold 2045. The BSBK Program is fully supported by PHI subsidiaries, including PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS), and PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT).
