Hulu Sungai Selatan, South Kalimantan– In order to commemorate World Earth Day 2025, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tanjung Field took part in the Clean Up Waste and Tree Planting activities initiated by the South Kalimantan Natural Resources Conservation Agency/Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA). The activity took place in the Gunung Kentawan Nature Reserve area, Lumpangi Village, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, South Kalimantan, on May 2, 2025.

The activity themed "Our Strength, Our Planet" involved various stakeholders, including the Lumpangi Village community, the Head of Lumpangi Village, the Loksado Tourism Organizing Agency (BPP), the Loksado Police and Koramil, the Head of Hulu Banyu Village, and a team from Pertamina EP Tanjung Field. This action is a real manifestation of multi-stakeholder collaboration in efforts to preserve conservation areas while strengthening shared awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental sustainability.

The activity was opened directly by the Head of the South Kalimantan BKSDA, Dr. Ir. Mahrus Aryadi, M.Sc. The tree-planting activity was carried out simultaneously by all participants in the nature reserve area. After planting, the effort continued with a garbage cleanup in the area around the village and nature reserve.

The Head of the South Kalimantan BKSDA expressed his gratitude for Pertamina EP Tanjung Field's active participation in the activity. "We would like to thank Pertamina EP Tanjung for taking part in maintaining the Gunung Kentawan Nature Reserve. This active participation is significant in maintaining the sustainability of the forest and biodiversity in this area," he said.

Responding to this, Pertamina EP Tanjung Field Manager Charlie Parmonangan Nainggolan said that the success of the activity was the result of collaboration among various stakeholders. "We believe that the success of the CSR program is the result of the Company's collaboration with all stakeholders, especially the community and government," he said.

As a form of real support, PEP Tanjung Field contributed by procuring 130 tree seedlings, consisting of mango, guava, avocado, durian, longan, and jengkol trees. In addition to seed assistance, PEP Tanjung Field also provided support in the form of planting equipment and other materials needed. He added that the Company's presence in the community also plays an important role in supporting the achievement of the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the environmental sector, namely Goal 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation, Goal 13 on Addressing Climate Change, Goal 15 on Protecting Terrestrial Ecosystems, and Goal 17 on Partnerships to Achieve Goals. "The Company's presence is expected to continue to encourage the spirit of environmental conservation and strengthen collaboration with the community and related institutions in order to maintain the sustainability of the forest ecosystem and the sustainability of life in the future," said Charlie.
