Commemorating the 60th National Health Day, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Collaborates with Balikpapan City Health Office

Balikpapan – To commemorate the 60th National Health Day (NHD) in 2024, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) organized a series of events under the theme "Moving Together, Healthy Together." This annual event within PHM serves as a platform to promote priority health programs from the Indonesian Ministry of Health and to enhance awareness among PHM employees and their families about healthy lifestyles and the health services available at the company's clinic. The 60th NHD celebration was officially launched at the Club House Gunung Utara, Balikpapan, on November 7, 2024.

In his remarks, PHM General Manager Setyo Sapto Edi emphasized that human resources are the most critical aspect of achieving the company's vision and mission. "Safety and health are crucial to support the success and sustainability of the company's operations and business. Therefore, I urge and encourage all PHM employees and their families to adopt healthy lifestyles at work and home, fostering a safe, healthy, and productive work environment," Setyo said.

One of the key activities for the 60th NHD celebration included a seminar and health booths organized in collaboration with the Balikpapan City Health Office. The event was attended by the Head of the Health Services Division of the Balikpapan Regional Health Office, Dr. Elisabeth Rassi, MARS., and the Head of Karang Jati Health Center, Dr. Niken Dayu Anggraini.

This health seminar featured the theme "Mental Agility and Resilience, Di Dalam Tubuh yang Sehat Terdapat Jiwa yang Kuat," with speakers including psychologist Irma Gustiana, S.Psi, M.Psi, and a representative from Pertamina Balikpapan Hospital, Drg. Salma Qatrunnada Sayuti discussed dental and oral health. The event was enlivened by the presence of PHM employees and their families and specially invited students from KPS National Elementary School in Balikpapan.

During the event, Dr. Elisabeth expressed her appreciation on behalf of the Balikpapan City Health Office to PHM for organizing the 60th NHD as a positive response to the circular letter from the Balikpapan City Health Office to all healthcare facilities in the city this November 2024. She also highlighted the high prevalence of degenerative diseases such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, and kidney disorders, collectively referred to as CHSK in Indonesian, KJSU, based on BPJS Health claim data for CHSK services in Indonesia. In Balikpapan, CHSK ranks first among health issues.

"Therefore, the Indonesian government is again emphasizing the importance of physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. This is reflected in the theme for the 60th NHD, Moving Together, Healthy Together," said Dr. Elisabeth. She also encouraged all PHM employees and their families to become health pioneers and motivators for themselves, their loved ones, and others around them. Dr. Elisabeth is confident that PHM will continue to be a key contributor to raising awareness about the importance of physical activity.

Dr. Elisabeth further expressed her hope that the PHM Clinic and the Balikpapan City Health Office will continue to collaborate in supporting health programs launched by the Indonesian government, such as the Healthy and Productive Female Worker Movement (GP2SP), the Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS and Drug-Free Work Environments (P2HIV & NAPZA), Tuberculosis Prevention and Control (P2TB), the Satu Sehat (One Health) profile verification application, and more. PHM is expected to set an example and inspire other healthcare facilities in Balikpapan.

Other activities held as part of the 60th NHD celebrations included a health exhibition featuring booths on the Occupational Health Wellness Program, Health Museum, Industrial Hygiene, GP2SP, P2HIV & NAPZA, P2TB, the Satu Sehat verification application (with a blue check), dental health checkups, and a bazaar showcasing products from PHM-supported UMKM.

The 60th NHD celebration continues the health programs implemented by PHM this year, including the successful accreditation of the PHM Clinic, which received an excellent (Paripurna) rating. Through its outstanding health programs, PHM has successfully improved the health of its employees and their families, earning recognition from local and national government bodies.
