Commemorating the 2025 National Occupational Health and Safety Month, PT Pertamina EP Bunyu Field Strengthens Commitment to Workplace Safety Programs

Bunyu Island, North Kalimantan– PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field successfully held a series of activities to commemorate the 2025 National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month. From January 25 to February 11, 2025, the event carried the theme "Strengthening Human Resource Capacity to Support the Implementation of the OHS Management System (SMK3) to Enhance Productivity."

The opening ceremony was officiated by the Senior Manager of Bunyu Field, Despredi Akbar, who reaffirmed the company's commitment to fostering a culture of occupational health and safety among all employees and business partners. "Implementing OHS is crucial as it represents a strategic investment for the company," he emphasized.

The celebration featured a variety of educational and competitive programs, including a health seminar titled "Understanding HIV and Its Management," delivered by Dr. Muhammad Fudail. PEP Bunyu Field also organized a blood donation drive, collecting 137 blood bags from employees.

A range of competitions further enlivened the 2025 National OHS Month celebration, including HSSE Quiz Competition on January 28, 2025, with 17 participating teams, HSSE Campaign Competition on January 29, 2025, featuring 10 individual participants and one team; Fire Extinguisher & Fire Blanket Usage Competition for women on February 1, 2025, involving eight teams; and Firefighter Challenge for men on February 2-3, 2025, with six competing teams.

During the February 11, 2025, closing ceremony, Despredi reiterated that implementing OHS is not merely a regulatory obligation but an integral part of the company's strategy to ensure operational safety and employee well-being. He also highlighted PEP Bunyu Field's remarkable achievement of recording 5,225,424 safe working hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI) from January 1 to December 31, 2024.

He emphasized that the successful implementation of the OHS Management System (SMK3) requires a collective commitment across all levels of the organization, from management to field workers. "The key to success lies in strengthening human resource capacity. Through the National OHS Month celebration, we aim to further embed a safety culture in every aspect of our work," he stated.

In a separate statement, the General Manager of Zona 10, Yoseph Agung Prihartono, underscored the company's unwavering commitment to prioritizing safety as a fundamental aspect of all operational and business activities. "We believe that excellent safety performance drives the success and sustainability of our oil and gas operations. This commitment is reflected in our adherence to best safety practices from both national and global upstream oil and gas industries, ensuring the delivery of safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable energy," he added.

Through the successful commemoration of the 2025 National OHS Month, PEP Bunyu Field continues strengthening its position as a company that prioritizes workplace safety and sustainable productivity.
