Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) Group within Zona 10 organized a series of activities themed "Energi Kartini: Jaga Sehatmu, Jaga Cantikmu, & Jaga Keluargamu" to celebrate Kartini Day 2026. This year's celebration highlighted the importance of balancing women's roles amid the dynamics of modern life. The event featured various activities, including a health talk show on cancer awareness, a beauty demo, and free health check-up services. These educational and inspirational activities were held at the PRCC Auditorium, Pasir Ridge Complex, Balikpapan, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

The initiative was supported by PERTIWI, an official community of female employees within PT Pertamina, established in April 2021, focusing on women's empowerment, gender equality, and leadership development within the Company. The presence of PERTIWI reflects the Company's commitment to mainstreaming women's strategic roles in the workplace and their role as key pillars in maintaining family health and harmony.

General Manager of Zona 10, Darmapala, emphasized that Kartini Day is not only an annual ceremonial event but also a reflective moment to uphold and advance the values of equality continuously. According to him, Kartini remains aa a symbol of the strategic role of women as pillars of national progress. "At Pertamina, particularly in Zona 10, we are committed to maintaining a healthy, inclusive, and equitable work environment by ensuring that employees' rights are fulfilled and that the values of equality are continuously upheld and sustained," he stated.

On this occasion, Darmapala also highlighted the important role of PERTIWI in sustaining Kartini's spirit by continuing to advocate for women's rights, encouraging women's growth and development, and upholding their roles as mothers, educators, and agents of change in the era of globalization and modernization. "There is no change without the real contribution of Indonesian women. Opportunities to grow are now more open than ever. Continue to contribute your best, both in the workplace, for the nation and the country, as well as for your beloved families," he added.

During the health talk show session, the committee invited a surgical oncology consultant from EMC Hospital (Elang Medika Corpora), medical professionals, and cancer survivors from the Indonesian Cancer Foundation (Balikpapan Branch). The speakers emphasized the importance of early detection as a key step in preventing cancer in women, including through regular medical check-ups.

Chairperson of PERTIWI Zona 10, Mangisi Herawati, stated that this year's theme is expected to inspire women to maintain their health and care for their beauty as a form of self-love, while placing family at the center of every step they take. "This Kartini Day commemoration is a moment for us, as women, to talk about self-love, how we take care of ourselves, maintain our health, and care for our families. Because mothers are the driving force of the family," she said.

She also added that healthy and empowered women can bring positive energy to their families and surrounding environments. "From strong families, we can build a better future. Let us value ourselves so we can shine brighter and show our full potential and best qualities," she said.

More than just a commemoration, this activity served as a platform for education and strengthening solidarity, particularly among female employees within the Company. In the spirit of Kartini, the Company, together with PERTIWI Zona 10, encourages women to continue growing, maintain their health, and become a source of positive energy for their families and communities, laying the foundation for a stronger, healthier, and more empowered generation.
