Penajam Paser Utara– PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) received an award from the National Population and Family Planning Board of East Kalimantan Province as an Active Partner in the Bapak Asuh Anak Stunting (BAAS) program. The award was given to PHKT for its contribution to reducing stunting in the Penajam District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency (PPU).
The award ceremony, which took place at the Mulawarman Military Command Hall in Balikpapan City on Wednesday (October 16), was attended by representatives from BKKBN, the Commander of the VI Mulawarman Military Region, local government officials, and national health figures.
The head of CRC Zona 10, Dharma Saputra, explained that PHKT's award results from collaboration with the government, community, and other stakeholders, such as local communities. Moreover, the award represents the government's recognition of the Company's efforts and commitment to contributing to stunting reduction, especially through integrated health initiatives and programs.
"PHKT received this award for supporting stunting reduction initiatives through CSR programs focused on improving toddler nutrition, providing stunting measurement tools, and health education for the community. These efforts have helped reduce the prevalence of stunting in the program's target areas," Dharma said.
Additionally, Dharma mentioned that the Company implements community empowerment programs by providing access to better nutritional resources, training healthcare workers, and running educational campaigns on maternal and child health. These programs are implemented sustainably and integrated with government programs, positively impacting the reduction of stunting rates in the area.
In a separate statement, Dony Indrawan, the Manager of Communication Relations and CID of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), expressed his appreciation to the PPU Regency government for the award. "We are committed to running the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that support community self-reliance, in line with efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2: Zero Hunger," he said.
