Bringing Independent Communities Through CSR Programs, PT Pertamina EP Sangatta Field and Sangasanga Field Won BISRA Awards 2024

Jakarta - PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangatta Field and PEP Sangasanga Field each won the Platinum Champion award at the Bisnis Indonesia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards 2024 on Thursday (27/6).

Bisnis Indonesia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards (BISRA) is an annual agenda that has taken place since 2021. This year, BISRA 2024 was held again with the theme Paving The Way Sustainable Business: Innovation In CSR.

In this event, which was participated by 46 companies, PEP Sangatta Field won the Top 5 Platinum Champion title through the excellent program of Edupark Kelulut Sangatta, and PEP Sangasanga Field won the Platinum Champion title through the excellent program of Ecotourism Sungai Hitam Lestari.

This predicate was achieved after further judging by the Deputy Minister for Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources of Bappenas, Vivi Yulaswati, the National Director of Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, Susanto Samsudin, and the Chief Editor of Bisnis Indonesia, Maria Y. Benyamin.

Pjs. General Manager of Zona 9 Susan Syahdina stated that the company's CSR program will continue to be developed with in-depth studies to have a sustainable positive impact on society and the environment.

In line with this, Elis Fauziyah, Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 9, explained that the programs run by PEP Sangatta Field and PEP Sangasanga Field are designed so that the independence of the beneficiaries in each program is achieved at the end of the program.

"Since 2020, the Kelulur Sangatta Edupark Program has been given guidance by the company, so currently, the program is entering the final stage of guidance. Slowly, the program exit strategy is starting to be implemented so that the independence of the beneficiaries can be achieved. In the future, it can run independently without any company intervention," said Elis.

Similarly, the Sungai Hitam Lestari Ecotourism program has been running since 2019. The program, which focuses on maintaining the Sungai Hitam ecosystem, has had a positive impact not only on the mangrove ecosystem and the habitat of the proboscis monkeys that live in it but also on improving the economy of the program's beneficiaries. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry/Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) also previously rewarded this impact with the EMAS PROPER title in 2023.

"Entering the final stage of the program, the company is currently striving to be able to provide maximum guidance by providing appropriate training in ecotourism development and assistance together with the local government so that it can become a leading ecotourism destination in Kutai Kartanegara," Elis added.
